Project

About Me

I have been playing music at milongas, festivals, and championships across North America, Europe, Asia, and Buenos Aires since 2018. Notable engagements include the Argentine Tango USA Festival and Championship 2023, as well as established Buenos Aires milongas such as Gente Amiga and La Baldosa.

My approach to tango DJing is grounded in a disciplined commitment to the Golden Age of Argentine tango, with carefully considered deviations when appropriate. I place particular emphasis on the use of high-quality recordings and transfers, supported by professional-grade software and sound systems, in order to deliver a precise, balanced, and musically coherent experience for the dance floor.

Prior to DJing I received my doctorate degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Maryland, College Park and held positions as a postdoctoral scholar at Stanford University and applied scientist at Amazon Search.

Why this project exists

The music at a milonga is not just background. It organizes time, affects navigation, changes emotional temperature, and shapes whether dancers trust the floor. el-eje exists to study that responsibility through listening, structure, and practical execution.

What it includes

Learning modules, listening examples, sound-related guidance, and eventually tools and resources that help connect musical depth with real event practice.
